Apart from superior design and technique, colours and graphics are decisive factors for the success of motorbikes. After all they determine the image of both the product and the brand to a great degree. Besides with modifications you are able to introduce product differentiation at relatively low costs and to keep the motorbikes visually up-to-date.
In order to give a design a maximal chance to succeed, colours and graphics must seamlessly correspond to the target group and the current trends. Trends that you have to be far ahead of as a designer, because the final design must be finished long before it enters the stores. This requires a continuous search for upcoming trends, carefully following of target groups, visiting international specialized fairs and events in the field of fashion, sports, lifestyle, interior decoration and so on.
The TZR you see here is an example of one of the many designs Hanno Groen made for Yamaha. It is a light supersports bike that is mainly sold in Europe to youngsters in Mediterranean countries. That is why vivid warm colours and exuberant graphics have been selected to emphasize the sporty image.
